The VADEN ORIGINAL 1100 330 001 is the aftermarket air compressor for the Freightliner Cascadia with the Detroit DD15 engine. It is a single-cylinder, water-cooled unit with through drive and the ESS energy-saving feature, supplied as a complete new unit with no core charge.

Theoretical displacement is swept volume multiplied by crankshaft speed. It is not the same as delivered air at working pressure — delivered air falls as discharge pressure rises, so always compare compressors on the same basis. On a typical heavy truck air brake system the governor cuts out near 120-130 psi and cuts back in near 100 psi. FMVSS 121 requires the vehicle to build from 85 to 100 psi within 25 seconds at maximum governed engine speed, scaled by the actual-to-required reservoir ratio, so a compressor that is slow to recover shows up as an out-of-service condition at a CVSA inspection before it shows up as a breakdown.
