Description

What does a brake caliper tappet do?

This brake caliper tappet and dust boot set plays a vital role in the air disc brake system by maintaining the proper position of the caliper tappets while preventing debris from entering the mechanism. Manufactured with high-strength components, these parts are designed to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations and harsh road conditions typical in heavy-duty operations.

Vehicle compatibility and fitment

This component is compatible with Renault Trucks, DAF, MAN, and Volvo trucks. It serves as an equivalent to OE parts used in these specific heavy commercial vehicle braking systems to ensure consistent performance.

Maintenance and installation guidance

Technicians should inspect these boots during routine brake service to prevent moisture or dirt from compromising the caliper movement. Ensuring the integrity of the dust boot is essential for preventing uneven brake wear or sticking piston mechanisms. Check the compatibility list for your specific vehicle application.

System performance and selection

When replacing caliper components, always verify that the new tappets and boots match the required dimensional standards to maintain optimal braking force and system responsiveness.
